I went over it with 240 wrapped around a bundled towel. It looked almost entirely uniform and I did not sand too deep.
I wanted to get the the little crevice that was in the deck from the factory. Little imperfections I son t mind. I tend to put lots of imperfections of my own into anything I build.
After everything, the sand job was very even
@glyphiks is it ok to sand out unevenness after the first layer? Some spots look a little not great
2nd coat on and takky
I’m pretty happy! Some spots ran a bit. I put the deck on a 45ish tilt to keep the very subtle w shape. Worked really well but unfortunately there’s that one runny spot. It’s super subtle though and I’m sure once the frit goes on it’ll be unnoticeable
I am lazy and my bag of fucks is mostly empty. I just epoxy bottom when it 1/2 set then frit. then finishing epoxy while the first layer is tacky. Last time I did 2 layers of finishing and it is bullet proof and doesn’t make me want to vomit so win win.
Lol 3 years of working at a pizza joint gets you a few skills. That was entirely by hand. I added more on the ends with the idea that I would be standing there and it would cause wear
Wow. I guess its no surprise tho really, different epoxies have different formulas, yours probably has some type of anti-blooming properties. Bloom is the main reason mine doesnt stick second time round
WS105 is da shit, for me a n00b is more forgiving than the trojan (generic). I use Trojan for Big jobs and save the WS for fiddly stuff. I also have a casting resin, its super clear and hard use this just post frit.
