I backed up the solder joint with some hot-glue and has worked out well.
Do you think epoxy glue also work?
I don’t see why not. I just like hot glue because it sticks but comes away easy when needed.
Dual trigger remotes have been scientifically proven to increase lifespan and lifegirth. Just something to consider.
Finally got this thing plugged in and will try it today since the snow is gone. It responds instantly without the incredibly annoying 200ms delay on the throttle that the VX2 had. I knew it would but it’s nice to have it confirmed.
I notice there’s nowhere in the settings to enter my wheel size and gear ratio so it will show the right speed as the VX2 required. I assume it’s querying that from the esc and I will have to acutally go set up those numbers correctly in there?
Hmm I can’t seem to do it…

Are you on Telegram? If so, PM me your contact info and I’ll add you to the right chat.
I believe that is the case, yes
hi,
did you have a delay for the next batch of Remote ?
is there test of trigger version actually ?
Remotes are still in beta, and a new beta round is coming this quarter. Trigger version is still planned, but will be offered after beta round successfully completed.
Hey
I know it’s probably not but it looks like this project is dead or I’ll be soon dead using other shit remotes and not be able to get one from you guys
Hey man-
It’s not dead. It’s just suffering from the worldwide chip shortage like many other products and projects.
It’s so bad that car manufacturers are buying new washing machines and robbing them of their chips!
Ohhhhh
Didn’t realize it’s that bad… Mybe because Flipshit is putting out new remotes and ESCs are also available (mor expensive of course). Same thing with other projects? Like your ESC and BMS?
Yup, same story for ESC/BMS. I imagine Flipsky and others have a wee bit more buying power than FreeSK8 at the moment.
We’ll get there.
Yeah we’ve been absolutely strangled in our ability to source components. With OSRR we are lacking a single component at the moment, but it’s a major one that isn’t easily replaced without major redesign.
Other projects like the BMS and Antispark were reliant upon components from Texas Instruments- completely out of stock until 2023 on most needed parts.
So yeah, unfortunately it’s caused some major delays. We’re not going anywhere though, and working on things behind the scenes while we wait for component shortages to subside. The OSRR beta release from last year is still going strong (about 45 remotes built by hand) and providing great feedback which is being incorporated into our next run.
That is awesome to hear! I was a bit worried because lack of even smallest updates. I believe in you guys and I’ll keep my fingers crossed
I want one. Now!
Time for some news and updates. If there is any.
This is still true, unfortunately.
Pain.
We’re working on a redesign using some available components but it’s not the easiest of lifts given what’s having to be replaced. I’ll post some updates as soon as I’ve got em
