What does it weigh!? Looking good so far!

2625g. My estimate was way off :joy:
I knew it from the mould, but it’s pretty flat.
Easier to add concave on my mould than remove it though, so will see how it goes.

How does it feel? It looks quite bouncy

Feels soft, and a bit bouncy…
Think it needs a couple more layers TBH.
Never ridden something so bouncy like that (like em stiff :joy:), I was being pretty gentle on it too, so will flex more on the trail.
Have some veneer, could smack a layer of that on top and bottom and see if it gives a bit of dampening.

Tested the veneer in the vac bag tonight. Without glue. Bends to deck shape pretty easily. Foolishly I cut it to follow the deck shape (with a border) and the bag cracked the veneer along the grain lines where there were stress concentrations on internal corners. :man_facepalming: Veneer out, pva glue overnight to fix the cracks and may laminate it tomorrow
Plan is to reinforce the edge of the veneer border at the sharp corners of the cutout shape with tape when I laminate it, hopefully stop splitting along grain lines there again. :call_me_hand:

How many layers do you suggest?

Haven’t ridden it yet, too early to be making suggestions!

It’s about 15 layers of different fabrics plus two full layers of soric plus additional soric at the ends and I have since added a layer of maple veneer to the top for stiffness.

With the additional maple veneer I have added, it’s about 2.95kg ish.

Haha yeah they’re miniature and kinda too small. Only really added them to stiffen it up at the footbeds.
When I make another I’m gonna make them wider, and longer and increase the footbed concave. It’s pretty flat.
That’s a way off tho, need to get this built and ride this first.

NeoHUB tesseract back in action after battery repair. Smallest 10s3p pack in a massive half empty enclosure :joy: nice and lightweight tho. Uses first CF enclosure I ever made and a repaired shitty NANO-X. Haha…

Hammock rear w BN145 hanger and SR TKP on SR adjusty baseplate front so super nimble and fun.

Deck bucks reshaped and resurfaced with epoxy.

Mounted up some meepo cyclone tyres on infinity hubs but a few issues to resolve if I want to use them.

Well, the spacer setup required a bit of fucking around and isn’t ideal. Mostly because of axle length issues with the trucks. But it rolls - enough for a short test ride anyway.
Need to Loctite the Kegel adapters into the hubs still, and Loctite on the wheel nuts for some peace of mind… :grimacing:
