For me, it’s so I can see where my charge cycle is at a glance.
The combo is like $110 shipped, which isn’t half bad for a universal 0-60V CC/CV charger good up to 8a

I’m sure you’re right.
I’ve come to realize that there are layers of clearance with the robot. No matter how high your security clearance is at any time, there’s at least one more layer above your current rank.

Does that cross feature increase strength/rigidity, or is that some sort of locating feature / flat for the PCB?

It’s structural for rigidity, the PCB has a battery cage that sockets into the 4x bosses you see there, rests on top of the cross.

Is that a gyro accelerometer on your remote PCB. Program it to play" oh no oh no" if you fall.
