Seriously, I’ve already disabled the digest emails by default + turned down other thresholds, Discourse just really loves to send emails. I remember thinking of our current SMTP relay provider: “10k emails a month? That sounds like plenty!” I never said I was good at this.
FWIW: I am an embedded systems engineer by nature and have done my best to avoid the web-side of the stack. 
of course robogatchi comes with an smtp server? no?
