The gaming thread

Why not? :man_shrugging:

I started gaming again last year. Originally on my laptop and this November I built a desktop.

Desktop specs:

Graphics card EVGA VGA GeForce RTX 3080 FTW3 ULTRA GAMING 10 GB
Case Be Quiet Pure Base 500DX Black
PSU Corsair ΑX1200i 1200W Full Modular 80 Plus Platinum

Apart from work stuff the computers are used for gaming.
I mostly play CSGO (and suck at it) with some of the guys in here , Battlefield, The Witcher 3 etc

And here I am planning a Ryzen 3600/16GB/480 SSD build. Sad now.

Killer rig, Taz.

Thanks.
Nothing sad about a Ryzen 3600/16GB/480 SSD build.
I went seriously overboard with that rig.
I never had a top of the line PC and I am not getting any younger so I figured I would tick one of the boxes in my list and spend my evenings stroking myself looking at the meaningless 99% 3dmark score
Your build is a much more sensible one.

Do you have a dongle for that computer?

A gentleman should never discuss his dongles in public

I dont really know whats inside of this thing apart from a

GTX 970
i5-6400
16GB RAM
H110-1 Plus D3

My laptop shit the bed one night and the next morning I had a guy from Facebook marketplace drive 30mins to drop this off. It works and I am mostly happy with it.

PS Corsair M65 Pro mouse sucks

Just get a normal mouse like a Glorious or a Logitech G Pro.
Costs the same and doesn’t look like a spaceship.
Wireless would be even better but is more expensive

What does one do then? Last time I tried showing them I wound up sitting on a cot smoking a cigarette saying “she didn’t look like a cop”

I’ll be able to add my rig here soon!

I’m excited to get into some PC gaming. I need some recommendations on monitors soon, after I figure out my budget for it at least.

I thought I was over gaming… until Cyberpunk showed up and all I have is a thinkpad >_<

The game where performance is measured in spf instead of fps.

This is the main reason I got a new PC.

I’ve been a console gamer for ever, my closet is filled with old consoles that just collect dust. I didn’t want to get into the whole craze of trying to get a next gen console.

So I decided to go with a pc…then got immediately pulled into the whole craze of getting an RTX card.

I got pretty lucky though and I was able to order a full kit on Black Friday that I’ve been in touch with the guy and he’s throwing in an upgraded AIO from cooler master for free.

If you guys need computer parts, check this dude out.

He sells all the next gen stuff at msrp or as close as possible. He live streams when he builds and ships and calls you when it’s your turn and allows you to pick what GPU you want out of what he has.

Ryzen 5 3600
Some AnusRGB Gigabyte motherboard
XFX Radeon 5600 XT THICC? Graphics
16gb ram
750w antec psu
1tb samsung m.2 ssd

Or something like that? I’m tired of PC hardware manufacturers bullshit naming.

It’s running Cyberpunk just fine @Taz ;p

How many spf? (Seconds per frame)

I am sure it does if you don’t set everything on ultra.
I get a little over 80 fps on 3440x1440 with RT on and everything on ultra with DLSS on auto.
Honestly it is a lot better than I expected
