It’s not solely focused on the FreeSK8 line, but the development surrounding that project will be a main theme here. This is also a place to collaborate and share projects.
The main difference here is that only The Watercooler category is off topic, every other category should be considered on-topic. The intention is to try to promote more focused technical discussion but isn’t limited in scope to FreeSK8.
I’m sure the admins & mods here would also be interested in hearing from users if there are things that might benefit the community here. Things are new & flexible.
I’m working on a FreeSK8 mission statement of sorts that will help frame what our project goals are here.

My name is Bill Gordon, and I was a mod/admin over on esk8.news forum for about 18 months. I met a ton of amazing people in that role, and I hope to see some of them here one day.
But this is a new day, and a new challenge.
Earlier, I accepted the opportunity to take up the admin mantle here at FreeSK8 forums. I’m especially excited to be working with, and learning from, the best mod team I can imagine.
With the exciting FreeSK8 platform as our strong foundation, I think we’ll all build out an excellent resource here together, and help esk8 take that next necessary evolutionary step.

I became interested in building an electric skateboard around March of this year. Since then I’ve been learning and gathering parts/tools. Everyone in this community have been awesome and generous with their time answering my many stupid questions (where is the noobs question thread here?).
By the mid September I will have 6 decks, a bunch of parts, and not one complete build…lol. Hope to finish one real soon.

This happens to a lot of us. I have the beginnings of a few builds but missing just a few parts for each one. Only need a bms for my mountain board…that and a functional left leg.
