That’s a great idea.
I should start to write down all my stuff I already have numbers for

I should create a thread, could be a community effort. It irritates me that this type of information can’t be easily found

Yeah a google sheet or something would be nice, but we would be a bit more detailed about different products.
Like maytech 6355, is it sealed or open etc.
Best with date of measurements as I think some weights will change over time with different production batches.

That 2,2kg for the Bro deck is the stiff or the flexi one?

Yes this is a google sheet. Will need to organise it properly

Med flex, found a mistake apparently the weight is around 2300grams according to Mr Bro

That’s good. Means my stiff flex is more heavy.
If I do get their new deck I should be able to drop below 10kg without changing motors :ok_hand::+1:

Finally good enough weather to take the inrunner for a spin outside.

Well…
I love the free roll.

But…
The kV is just too high for 1:5 gearing on 9“.

As soon as you hit around 20km/h they do take off pretty good.
Brake settings need to be higher than on outrunners too.
It’s nice to carve with them due to the great free roll.
Start up with encoder is just deluxe :ok_hand:
Really loving it and might get some encoders on other boards as well.

But buuut it’s really too less torque for me.

I was hoping to get them on etoxx gear drives with 1:6.25 gearing, buuut today’s test fit made clear that it’s not going to happen.

There are ways to make that work even with the 56123 230kV motors, by changing the front cap and use 3DS hanger or the etoxx 400mm trucks…

Buuuut, at this point that would be a set of new inrunner, new truck and new end caps… which is just something that I’m not willing to investigate more in.
I‘m sad about it, but I need a running 9“ board for the summer, so that’s it with my journey into implementation inrunner on an esk8.

Too many buts in this post, but, no way around that :joy:

If anybody is interested, I will probably put the inrunner up for sale.
I think on 155mm tires with 1:5 gearing they should be just fine for a fast carver. Optional 6-8s with car esc should work well too.

If nobody is interested I might give them another try on a scooter, running 6s lipo

I’ve been wondering about this setup. Sorry it didn’t work out to your liking, but cool attempt.

I learned a lot so far and that’s what I’m happy about.
If I would start from zero with the right budget, I could make it work.
Maybe I’ll try it next winter again, but with the right parts than

Had a nice weekend out of the city, Snowboarding, ice skating etc… sometimes good to have a bit a distance from all the esk8 stuff.
On the way home it came to my head,
Why the fuck didn’t I just mount the etoxx mounts up side down?!? :man_facepalming:

Aaaand here we go again.
I did a bit of some test fit and in theory I could fit the inrunner with etoxx Maxi drives on the apex trucks.

Wouldn’t install the encoder and the ground clearance isn’t what I would call off-road friendly, but it would work.

I checked also the trampa trucks and due to the different baseplate design it would work as well.

I have some 63100s coming my way, but I just want to give those inrunner a go on the 1:6.25 helical gearing.
I‘m sure I will not run them like this all summer, but for one ride and for science, fuck yeah why not!

So plan for the next week is to get the etoxx drives off the hanger, clean everything up and fit it back to the trampa trucks with extensions.
I will need to work out some custom axle spacer I guess, but that’s nothing that can’t be done.

I‘m as well working parallel on the angry bee board.
I glued the Sabre blades with sika to the deck over the weekend.
Also the wires are laid out.

Found some polyester putty.

Not sure how to work with it, but it says,
Flex, so I hope it the right thing to fill the gaps between deck and flaps and smoothen down the layers which are cause from the 3D printing on the flaps.

If anybody was working with polyester putty before, I would be happy to get some recommendations on what to take care while working with it.

Edit:

Totally forgot about that, but I did add a magnetic charge port to all my pucks.
Needed to print a mini spacer to make it fit perfectly.
From now, no dirt in the charge port anymore :muscle:

I guess you would gain a bit of play when you use the integrated motoradapter plate right?

I am currently in the mids of a renovation so time is scarce, but when I am done I can maybe machine you a set for cheap, I wanna see this work nicely

I would gain 6mm with it, but that’s still not enough to run encoder with a good distance in the back.
If nothing else comes up I might get them setup without encoder by tomorrow or Friday on Trampa trucks.
Should be good enough for a ride or two.
Thx for the offer thou!

First day of moving the inrunner to the etoxx drives…
I already asked myself why I started this.
It’s two days of work just for one test ride…
Why? Whhhhyyy am I doing this???

Anyways, looking good so far.
For sure I didn’t just change the drive train, I also needed to swap escs and design a new esc case, just because everything else would be too easy…

Took me quite a bit to get all the old drive parts off the hanger and the pinion off the old motors. I definitely did a good loctite job there :joy:

To fit the motors I needed to place the mounting plates on the outer edge of the hanger.

With it I have a good clearance between the motors. In theory I could even fit the encoder back on.

I also had to redesign all the spacing of the gear drive. As the gears sitting now 100% on the axle I decided to add two more bearings to the wheel gear. That’s something I always wanted to have on the etoxx drives, but wasn’t possible due to half of the gear hanging over the hanger.

While adjusting the backlash I had this great idea to just use drill bits to get the backlash on point on both sides without hours of
„Just a bit more close… a fuck too much… lets move it back… a ja that’s good… fuck no, maybe a bit less…ok, juuuuust a lill bit this time… fuck again too much…“

Not sure why I didn’t have had that idea earlier :man_facepalming:
But ok, now it’s setup perfectly and if I ever need to readjust it, I can do that’s pretty quick and fast.

To fit the wheel now back on the trucks I got sure need those sexy etoxx truck extensions.
Without them I would need a longer axle.

That’s it for today

Printing the last part for the esc case right now.
Tomorrow I will swap over the vesc6s from another board and do all the electronics and setup hopefully.

I‘m a bit late…
It’s all finished up, just started to snow again last weekend. Definitely time for spring…

Did some mini pimping with green washers all over.

Weather is looking better the next days, so I’m hopeful I can get some rides in.

PS: searching for another set of ETOXX extensions. If somebody has some laying around without use, hit me up please!

Was working a bit on the Trampa deck today.
One layer of filler wasn’t enough, so that’s it after two layers of filler.

Really nice to work with that polyester putty, but it smells horrible.

Multiple thin layers=better adhesion and strength.
