So we have this evolve Gen 1 in for a full makeover. I’m afraid I dont have any before pictures but here it is mostly stripped
That battery is a KD battery, and I was asked to put a 10S smart BMS on it… well I have a rule that I dont work on other peoples batteries which is actually born out being asked to fix so many shitty batteries but this build is for a dear friend, so I said ok. Well I had to take the shrink wrap off to get the battery off of the lid, because it was stuck to it with two large strips of sticky tape. And I found…

Cells added to my collection of recycled cells, have a fair few now but no idea what to do with them.
So we will build him a new 12S5P 30Q pack. This is going to be an elofty 4WD conversion, so it’s probably best that it got a better battery I guess. More work though!

Only way I know of with the forums is to upload them on a video platform like YouTube or Dailymotion and link to it. You could make unlisted so it’s not part of your usual upload schematic for your viewers.

Its so strange, I hear of so many of you UK dudes evolve boards blowing up after battery upgrades and haven’t heard of a single situation like that here.

If you have enough from the same type/age a field power supply aka charge and ride pack would be an option.
Or bench power supply. If you work much with escs it comes on handy to just have a small pack to connect and check settings etc.
I use some cells in flashlights and I like to have portable bigger flashlights in my workshop which are available to use with 18650s as well.
Buy some powerbank cases for 2$ and fill them up with cells. Always good to have.
