The next one sort of does…

I’m really worried about this too. At least my image is supposed to hit both edges and then solid background.

Yours should be much easier I believe. The solid background will allow you to focus on the decal placement .
Not doing it at 5am after some beers may help too…

The problem may have been ‘not enough beers’

Sucks that it didn’t work out, but your samples look fucking great dude, looking forward to seeing you nail this :+1:

you may be right, I was in the sober up part of the evening, should’ve kept on going :beers:

I think im going to draw some extended alignment lines on cardboard behind length and width.
Possibly get 2 more hands to help with placement from the better half

:+1:, She’s demanding a back rub in exchange, I better oblige.

Bout to go sand deck and re iron fabric. I have to decide on frit size for this first one. Leaning towards medium only on the red to let it pop, and then tone down the black/white one with fine.

The tester/practice ones are stock Spoonflower designs(thousands to chose from). The other is a self uploaded image. It’s about 20$ +sh for enough to do 2 decks(or top and bottom of one) for satin.

Very nice! The one on the right is bad ass!

I was mixing resin to lay into the fabric earlier and got interrupted by a banking fraud issue. I called CS and took care of it in what seemed to be pretty quick timing(15-20min).
Well I guess I kept mixing too long in front of a small space heater. As I started applying I noticed it a bit thicker and warmer than usual. It set up much quicker than expected and wasn’t covering as much as normal and ran short by a lot.
Had to scramble and mix another batch and apply it quickly.
It’s not a catastrophic event, I think it is still leveling off nicely. Worst case I’ll have to let it fully cure then sand b4 the coating the frit drops in.

Moral of the story, when it’s time for resin, it’s only time for resin.
As well as heat helps some aspects, but is fickle and makes application/set-up timing windows shorter.

These samples looks excellent! Great vivid colors.

Did you go with the spoonflower satin polyester?

:+1: seems ideal, but have no other reference.

Wait, so did you use spoonflower, or some other fabric printing shop?

Yes, spoonflower satin

Yeah depending on the type of resin you’re using the set up time can vary based on temperature and volume of material. Most are exothermic and set faster if left in a cup vs spread thin over a large area.
Deck looks great. Love the seizure inducing pattern! :eyes:

Lol, I have one better for that underway

This turned out as well as I could hope for a first skin. I ended up a bit heavy on the medium frit for a board not really meant to go above 30mph. Oh well, live and learn.

That’s really good. Nice execution.
