Buy a 10 pack of belts first.
I shredded 20+ sanding disks

Sounds like I’m gonna have to do something similar like yours. Do let us know how it goes! I recommend an orbital sander with a 60 or 80 grit.

I got one of these!!

I’m going to do some more work in the garage this coming up weekend. I plan on taking the test i’ve been studying for soon so thats going to free up some time.

Now I need ideas on what to do with the deck once its “fresh”

Just some new epoxy pigment.

I got my deck prepped now. I’m going to get the drill press set up to drill out the old brass inserts that I put in before I knew what I was doing.

Got the sander and a bunch of extra belts prepped for the frit!

Just be careful not to gouge with the belt sander. Its pretty easy to make a big mess with the ol belt sander

Honestly don’t go at it with a belt sander… Take ya a heat gun and a scraping tool and it’ll come up, sand whats left. Spray ya a little brake or carburetor cleaner on there to that’ll eat that shit no dramas. :point_left:thanks @glyphiks don’t put the heat gun on the carb cleaner though. It won’t kill you, probably. Just try what I said. Lol :metal::call_me_hand: it’ll work

these work to.

I may try this out first, it may actually help me get the inserts out easier since I epoxied them in too!

You’ll be surprised once it gets to a good temperature it’ll peel off like a sunburned gingers skin.

I tried a heat gun on a LY drop through and the vanear near the dropthrough delaminated after a few weeks.

Too much heat señor.

Ugh hum. I feel attacked.

Huge thanks to @rosco & @glyphiks for the help/tutorials! Both posts/threads are full of good info and took a more than solid effort to put up.
I’ve been through both of them plus the ESN thread up and down.
Your guy’s threads really make this more accessible to the common caveman like me.
I’ve got 2 samples done, while getting a feel for the process and testing different grip. Stoked with how they turned out.

I failed at applying fabric to a deck late last night. I let the resin set up too far and wasn’t getting good enough adhesion in a few spots. Ripped it off and went to bed.
Will sand and redo this afternoon.
I’ve realized my 3 fabrics all need a near perfect layout to not look janky. If I were to choose my first fabrics again, I’d order designs that aren’t geometrically symmetrical to have some leeway in fabric placement.

They look amazing @PedroMcJimenez!
Yeah straight up I decided to avoid symmetry and anything that relies on correct fabric alignment - way too hard for me :joy:

Al laughed at me and said good luck when I posted this

Not gonna be easy to not distort too much
