Parametric moondrive spacer

So @Venom121212 designed this spacer for his @moon drives on MBS trucks.

Due to variance on the MBS truck mounting. The moondrive instructions ask you to measure the space where your moondrives vs wheel adapter lineup and add appropriate spacers.

So the spacer needs to be varying thickness for different setups. obviously @Venom121212 can render STLS of varying sizes for people.

But I made a parametric version of it in openscad. so any size can be generated from a script. ( a very simple script… )

(note thickness parameter.)

I’d like to publish this. ( Assuming @Venom121212 approves. )

Easiest would be to put it on thingiverse, and then it would be a customizable object people could use the website to generate the size they need.

but I’d like to contribute it to the freesk8 disapora of stuff if that’s of interest.

@Andrew any thoughts there? any guidance?

That’s a pretty accurate list. I made my spacer 4mm!

Definitely worth making parametric and open. I love all of you and certainly wouldn’t mind remaking the same stls over and over but this seems like a much better way.

Also holy shit that’s a big difference.

It might be but 6-7mm is very common. The rest are outliers

did it vary by truck? or by side of truck?
IOW were the offsets relatively symmetric on a single truck?

No the brake hole is in a different position

Using the brake tapped hole is so much better than relying on grub screws on these weirdly shaped hangers.

I use the m8 hole to mount the gear drive clamp.

Given @moon’s table of sizes I think I’ll just generate 100 spacer STLs in 0.1mm increments.
check em into git and publish via github.

It doesn’t need to very accurate. 0.25mm increments is enough

Ok, I released CC BY-SA via github with all the sizes pre generated in the STL dir.
I added the LICENSE.md for CC BY-SA. following some other Freesk8 examples.
