What are you for doing the epoxy? If you draft the front and back of that form a little, you could pop a cast directly off of it. Or even do a hard mold? What’s the plan mr. masochist?

Still gotta so some sanding/shaping, then i’m gonna cut the buck into it’s segments.

The buck is hollow, once i’ve cut it i’m gonna haveto fill in the ends.

I’m gonna go for a silicone mold again this time, just gonna use a lot less of the shit

Lol. You’re just a glutton for punishment.

On a serious note. If you’re doing another brushup mold it’s fine. If you do a matrix watch out for your hollow core. Any gap and it will fill with rubber…

Just gonna pour it, but do a much thinner silicone jacket, and then try and vac a fibreglass jacket over that

You can break up the jacket if you need to as well.

Slow progress, more filling and sanding still to come

Looks great al. But I’m confused, I thought you said you were cutting it up. Change of plans?

The plan remains. I just wanted to get the shape right before I ruined it

I’m just glad that work pays for all the bog.

Final primer coats going on. Dumping a whole can of aerosol primer onto them and then moving on to making a flange.

I always seem to forget how much work goes into this process :man_facepalming:

Lol this enclosure is so thiccc. Its a little too thicc, so i’m making a flange to go round the buck and slightly reduce the total enclosure depth.

Shamelessly stole this idea from @rosco

This will also allow me to have the perfect flange shape already set in the part when I release it from the mold.

Chop strand fibreglass is shit.
