Which one would you print!? The entries are all great :ok_hand:

Yes, you can def over tighten these down and cause issues. Even impinging the vibration node or the buttons to the point they don’t function. Something we were aware of and raised the issue with the vendor and we’re assured it wouldn’t be a problem in production. Alas…

I really like the starship enterprise trigger style shell, but I moved to thumb control and I don’t wanna start mix that up. Just would look for troubles sooner or later.

The toast design seems a nice fit with gloves and would probably work as well good with my beloved popsocket.

When I fell with my puck and cracked the posts like you did my remote did the exact same thing… still have no idea what it was about.

I was under the impression that the tight snap together tolerances and stronger injection molded material would cause the load of impacts to not be transferred to the posts… you say there was not really an impact and it was the stress from the screws that broke the posts however.

I’m confused, carry on everyone.

Yep I fell on my ass not really on the puck.
Or as minimum that’s what I remember and I couldn’t see any outside scratches or dirt on the puck after the crash.

The two shells as well fixed on the frame, so I wouldn’t expect the internals to crack when crashing. Ok, maybe the stand offs where the threads are in, but in my case the side where the bolt heads are sitting popped off, so in fact it can really only be caused by overtightend bolt.

I‘m happy to hear other opinions thou.

Had a bit time to work on the angry bee board again.
Took 3 layers in the end to smoothen down the concave pads. Still not perfect, but it’s just good enough.

The bottom side I already colored.
Wasn’t a big fan of the yellow deck idea, but I‘m starting to like it more and more.

Going to color the top today and than it’s time for some new hardware.
Counting on you @moon :joy:

Shiny result of today’s work

I wanted to add 1-2 more layer of yellow just that it will hold up better when rubbing on the surface with shoes.
Unfortunately the spray nozzle got clogged and I couldn’t spray any color through it anymore…
I have some clear spray paint laying around.
Would it be a dumb idea to just add 1-2 more layers of clear coat on top of the yellow paint?

Looks good Andy! If you want more paint and have any extra paint nozzles you can often swap can tips and keep going. I save a few when my rattle cans are empty.

Thx!
It was written wrong from my side I guess.
It was not in the nozzle, but in the pipe which lead to the nozzle. I changed the nozzle but that didn’t help. I also tried to get the pipe free with some alcohol solvent which also didn’t help. No way I can get any paint out of than can anymore I guess.
The problem is that I can’t find that same color anywhere close and I’m not really wanna pay shipping again for 1-2 extra layers.
So either clear coat or I just let it how it is now.

Ugh. Yeah that might be fucked. Sometimes solvent and a careful prodding with a pin can help, but not a guarantee.

One more thing I had on my todo list for too long was a charging station out of dry wall.
Idea behind is firstly, I can prepare my packs for charging and my girlfriend can just switch it on without being worried to plug something wrong and secondly in case something goes wrong I can just threw over a cover box and flames will be capsuled. I very much hope last will never happen, but I think it’s always important to be prepared.
So here we are with the base:

With it I can now charge up to 2x 12s2p lipos or 2x 12sXp LiIon packs at 12-13A.

The top cover box I still have to build.
For now I just have another plate of dry wall to cover the box.

Well, my pin was a bit too big and I fucked up the pipe too… heard a bit of gas coming out. Guess over some hours all gas came out, so now way I can spray with that can anymore :joy:

Awesome job on smoothing the deck and blades, I know the stuggle from smoothing the loopkeys I make

Deck looks dope with that colour, I will also use some yellow on my jump board hehe.

Got some more sprockets in.
Always a long process for me to drill all holes to reduce weight, but what else to do.

I just wanted to show how I drill the mounting holes to have them aligned properly.
The sprockets do come with a center hole.
I measure that hole diameter and adjust my 3D printed plug for an old Trampa superstar spoke.

That just pops into the sprocket like that

I drill one hole, than fix the spoke with an M4 bold (no nut, just stick it in…) than drill the next hole and again fix it with a M4 bolt and so on till I did drill out all 5 mounting holes.
It’s not 100% perfect, but so far I get the best results with this method.

For the 46T sprockets a before and after weight comparison as usual:

I definitely could remove more material to make them more light, but goal was to get them close to the 42T sprockets I have installed right now which are 400g, so goal reach and I’m happy with the result.

I’m getting routined on doing sprockets, still took me probably 2-2.5h for each sprocket.

Edit: I do like to add a layer of clear coat after I drilled all holes. It’s not necessary, but as those are steel sprockets, they like to get rusty quick on the drill holes if not doing so. Just looks a bit longer nice with it.

How do you make the big hole in the center? Hole saw?

Like that:

Drilled out the 57mm hole from wood with the mounting holes first, then installed the sprocket and use the wood as guide to get the hole centered.

It’s pretty good but can be slightly off.
That’s not a big issue thou.
I always check where is the heavy side on my sprockets by letting them turn free on the hub.
Than mark that side and counter the tube valve with it.

Fuck… Fuck… Fuck…

You all remember that I wanted to add a layer of clear coat on top of that yellow color???
Well… I just did that…

Not sure why that happened, but I can now know that I need to order more of that yellow color… sand down everything again and start from zero…
