RAWshop - Ross’ Alliteration Workshop

I may have had one too many beers during the week and arranged delivery of some ‘extensions’ myself…

I’m hoping they give me the motivation to finish off my Mov-E from @Lukas

Impossible.

They look so nice.

Also need something similar for my HAYA which suffers wheelbite too. But I can’t be building myself 3 boards at once…

New combined phase and sensor connectors arrived today.

Shame I put in The MR60s, coulda tried these. Look about the same size.

Maybe have to build something else to test em on :joy:

If you are going to install the new plugs, why not just to extend the esc phase wires instead of extending them motor sides?
Yes, the terminals will not sit in the enclosure after that, but I personally thing this even helps to have less stress on the plug connection.

Oh I’m not gonna install them on this.

Maybe in something else.

Only not extending esc cables like you say cos I had an idea in my head that I could make enclosure waterproof and I dint really want to deal with cables exiting it.

My plan is to make plugs that can be epoxied to the enclosure which plug in each side.

I did this the MR60s. Soldered male bullets on the inside, esc cables came w female bullets and cable length is perfect to plug to the enclosure side. Motors plug in other side. Interface at the enclosure is epoxied for strength and waterproofing on both sides.

I think I saw only 20a but bought some from AliExpress anyway to have a look. Will drop a link.

I figure for a 4wd might be ok as phase current wouldn’t be too high. They look to be same as MR60s to me so should be similar I guess?? Says 20a, 40a peak.

Keep us updated what you do with them. As you said, interesting for 4wd, or small thane board.
Bullets look in pic to be .5-1mm smaller than mr60.

If you consider that xt90 is really only rated for 45a, i reckon these connectors would be fine for most average builds.

Screw it, ordered a couple pairs. I’ll see what I end up pulling b4 I decide to use. Poasts removable bunghole will be conducive to upgrades if I choose.

I giggled my ass off as a 8yo(ish) hearing that the first time, along with their song about a kid crying cause someone shit in his sandbox. Pops was good for introducing us to diverse music.

Just make some 3 inch extensions heatshrink them after you plug them in… I did this on my personal board awhile back works like a charm.

That’s the plan, just waiting for more MR60 connectors…

It’s slow progress round here. Baby steps, but It’s moving ahead. The wait for parts is really slowing some things down. But it’s winter. No rush.

Al, your hot glue + silicone tip for faster gluing p groups is awesome. Saved me heaps of time compared to how I used to do it :+1:

Crimps and JSTs arrived. Crimped my first connectors for the enclosure. Went pretty well.

Also drilled some holes in the enclosure for the sensor plug mounting.
